The casinos are rightly world famous and are open 24 hours a day, every day, with the opportunity for punters to try their luck at the blackjack, craps or roulette tables, or to chance their arm on the rows of high-payout fruit machines. Gaming lessons are routinely available for absolute beginners or those who wish to increase their confidence and brush up their skills.

There is also an alternative for people who do not feel quite as home in the world of croupiers and professional gamblers - for a more relaxing punt, many casinos now feature comfortable lounges, where bets can be placed on big-screen televised sports games. In short, if there is something going on in the world, someone will have invented a way to bet on it, and it is this that makes Las Vegas holidays so different.

With the likes of Bette Midler headlining at the famous Colosseum at the Caesars Palace complex, Las Vegas will always live up to its reputation for offering the most amazing shows. Apart from the massive names that the city attracts - Blue Man Group and Cirque de Soleil have both become fixtures in the last few years - visitors can always check out the spectacular revues with their stunning showgirls, catch a famous musical, or relax to the sounds of a lounge singer, a rock, jazz or blues band - or any one of dozens more contemporary musical sounds available at a host of venues across the country.

In recent years, trips out into the rugged desert of Nevada have become more popular for people on Las Vegas holidays and they are an excellent way to get a taste of the cowboy lifestyle. Great deals on ranch trips or trail rides can be found by booking online. Why not take a trip to the incredible Grand Canyon? Riding lessons can be obtained from experienced ranchers and guides can be hired who know the local area like the back of their hand. Families are welcome too - there are even special riding holidays available for children.

Elvis impersonators and glitzy casinos. Of course, nobody denies that most Las Vegas revolves around the glamour and razzamatazz of the city, but it is in the Nevada Desert - deep in cowboy country.

The rugged yet spectacular scenery proves a real attraction to thousands of visitors every year. It is possible for people looking for Las Vegas holidays with a difference to book ranch tours, trail rides and trips from the city to the famous Grand Canyon over the Internet.

There are a large range of different ranches, each offering their own version of the cowboy experience. Some specialise in offering riding holidays for children, while others seek to whip groups of adults into shape.

It is "Sin City" itself that most visitors come for though - the heady combination of showbiz, shopping and chancing your luck at the card games, fruit machines and roulette tables. For those dreaming of riches, or just people looking for a flutter and a bit of fun, the casinos of Las Vegas are spectacular. Open 24 hours a day, they offer the classics - blackjack, roulette and craps - alongside more exotic or just plain bizarre games. As a general rule, if it can be betted on, then someone in Las Vegas will have made it into a game.

As well as the famous table games, Las Vegas can also encompass sports betting, with big-screen coverage of all the games in comfy and relaxing surroundings. For those intimidated by the experienced gamblers and card sharps, many casinos make gaming lessons available, which can really help with confidence - and maybe with fortune!

Las Vegas has long been associated with amazing live shows, and rightly so. Las Vegas holidays can mean an encounter with superstars such as Bette Midler, who is currently headlining at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, or the sheer spectacle of a revue featuring gorgeous showgirls. Visitors can kick back and relax to the sounds of a skilled lounge crooner, gasp at the feats achieved by performers at the Cirque du Soleil, or take in any form of contemporary music at one of the scores of venues throughout the city.

At the first glance, the title of this article may sound ridiculous. Everyone knows Las Vegas is city of casinos and various kinds of entertainment. Therefore, paying a visit to Las Vegas must cost a fortune for most people except the rich ones. Well, fortunately, this is a wrong assumption. As a matter of fact, cheap Las Vegas holidays are often available for those who know when and where to look for. Better yet, the cheap holidays can even offer shows and meals already along with nights of fantastic stays in the top Vegas hotels.

Starting with the hotels seems to be a good idea. Las Vegas offers good to exceptional hotels. Some of the hotels offer views of volcanoes spewing out their molten lava, some offer views of Eiffel Tower replicas and some others offer views of Giza Great Pyramids copies.

However, though, while people are traveling on cheap Las Vegas holidays, they are not quite likely to spend the night in their hotel room. This is because they are mostly too busy taking part in shows, prowling the strip and also too busy haunting the tables of Black Jack hoping for some fortune. To compete with this, most hotels in Vegas offer unbelievable deals to make their customers stay for even more nights. This is why a savvy traveler will usually think of cheap Las Vegas holidays in the first place when they are about to travel.

There's tons of entertainment besides the strip. To avoid being addicted to the exciting night life and entertainment, it will be a good idea for travelers to enjoy the beautiful natural sights from the hotel they are staying in, no matter which hotel it is. Places with beautiful natural sights in Las Vegas include the Grand Canyon, the Hover Dam, Red Rock, the Colorado River and Lake Meade. The good thing is they can all be reached within a day from almost any Vegas hotels.

Then, when travelers have finished enjoying Colorado River rafting, Lake Meade swimming, Grand Canyon viewing, there are countless twinkling stars in the sky above them waiting to be enjoyed by the travelers when it comes to sightseeing. Afterwards, travelers may feel interested in going back to their hotel, enjoy the jacuzzi soaking and then hit the strip.

Also, thanks to the cheap Las Vegas holidays, travelers have the power to spend more money to parlay in some great casinos making them a winner in the first place already. Then, when those travelers feel about enough of the night life and entertainment that can be offered, they can go back to their hotel with a bright smile on their face for they have beaten the odds and this is all possible thanks to the cheap Las Vegas holidays they have taken.

With all being said, people should no longer be afraid of traveling to Vegas and the wrong assumption of high costs they may need to pay for. It is quite easy to make this an affordable vacation, and have a ton of fun without breaking the bank.

Most people think that visitors travel to Las Vegas to gamble, hoping to win some big money. Others have heard that it is known for famous musical performances and stage shows. If you do a bit of research before traveling you will find that there is a lot more to do there. Some Las Vegas Hotels provide its guests with alternative activities.

Most of the lodging locations have restaurants and decorative embellishments that make them unique or stand out from the rest. Some host celebrations or fireworks nightly. Others provide thrills and chills on extreme amusement style rides. Some create romantic or other worldly atmospheres once you pass through the entrance doors.

This has been called Sin City by some, and most just refer to it as Vegas. Whatever you choose to call it, this city has quite a history. The area where it is located once once home to two different Indian tribes. Later the Mormon Church built a fort to supply travelers going from Utah to California. After Mormons stopped using the fort, mining and farming took over. The town was located perfectly for the railroad to establish a stop here between Salt Lake City, Utah and Los Angeles, California. After officially becoming a city in 1905, Las Vegas experienced several periods of growth. Building of the Hoover Dam brought many workers to the area in 1931, the same year that gambling was legalized in Nevada. At the beginning of World War II it grew again when Nellis Air Force Base was built on the northeast part of the city.

The end of World War II saw the most development and influx of residents. Hotels and casinos were built to create a resort city. As it still is today, Vegas became a popular tourist destination and the tourist and entertainment industry the biggest employer by far. Then in the 1960s Howard Hughes, aviator and film maker, encouraged other corporations to join him in investing in Las Vegas hotels. At the same time several of the hotels were being run by mafia families haling from New York, Chicago, St. Louis, Detroit and Cleveland.

The city is constantly in flux. A good number of hotels have been rebuilt, or renovated since they were constructed. Others were demolished and replaced by something deemed bigger and better. No matter which, each one is known for something unique. Some resemble famous places and structures from around the globe, others have flashing lights and pyrotechnic displays to entertain guests. Most have very good restaurants serving buffets, steaks and seafood.

Vegas is also known as a convention and trade show hosting city. Some centrally located hotels provide convention center or exhibit hall space to hold trade shows where individual booths and even large vehicles are set-up for viewing. Planning a show or employee retreat here will allow participants to relax and play a bit after meetings.
